Einstein Summer Research Scholarship

The Einstein Summer Research Opportunity will be awarded to one selected candidate. The winning student will receive a merit-based partial tuition scholarship* and will participate in a 3-credit, faculty-directed independent study, researching nanoscience. The research is in the field of condensed-matter physics and biophysics, with investigation focusing on nanomaterials research and potential new ways of creating materials with nanoparticles as building blocks. This independent study is a graded course taken in addition to the Writing Seminar for Summer Scholars.

Eligibility: High school juniors with a strong record of academic achievement including honors/Advanced Placement science courses; a keen and demonstrated interest in the sciences; the intellectual maturity to assist and commit to a regular schedule of college-level research.

To Apply: Submit a complete Summer Scholars application form (available upon request or online) with all the required documentation. In addition, submit a personal statement addressing how the science researchopportunity will be of future benefit. A letter of nomination from a science teacher should be submitted in lieu ofthe teacher recommendation. This is a competitive scholarship and only one scholarship will be awarded to the studentwho is best qualified. The deadline for applying is April 15.
